Today, let's talk about the issue of breast nodules. Recently, I saw two patients with breast nodules, both discovered through ultrasound examinations, and both were categorized as BI-RADS 4a.

For such BI-RADS 4a nodules, we generally need to be very cautious, as they have a certain possibility of malignancy. Therefore, I advised both patients to undergo puncture biopsy, and the results showed one was an inflammatory lesion and the other was invasive carcinoma.

Of course, this inflammatory lesion result may not necessarily be accurate—it could also be that the needle biopsy sampled the lesion area. However, based on the current situation, there is no problem as long as the inflammation subsides and the mass disappears subsequently. On the other hand, invasive carcinoma, which is breast cancer, requires surgical treatment. Therefore, needle biopsy is very meaningful for breast nodules.
