Why is breast cancer not considered a gynecological tumor?
Breast cancer is often referred to as the "pink killer," but it is not classified as a gynecological tumor. Why is that? Gynecological tumors are diseases unique to women, while breast cancer is not exclusive to women. Both men and women have breasts, and men can also develop breast cancer, although the incidence is relatively low and not commonly seen. Male breast cancer accounts for about 1% of all breast cancer cases, making it a relatively rare disease. Therefore, breast cancer cannot be categorized as a gynecological tumor. However, due to the higher incidence of breast cancer in women, screening efforts for breast cancer are primarily focused on women.
