Can Thyroid Nodules Be Ignored?
The vast majority of thyroid nodules discovered do not require intervention because most are asymptomatic benign nodules. These nodules do not need treatment but should be monitored with regular follow-up examinations.
If a thyroid nodule shows signs of malignant transformation or is suspected to be thyroid cancer, this indicates a relatively serious condition, and surgical treatment should be performed as soon as possible.
Based on nodule size and other factors, select the appropriate surgical approach for surgical treatment.
In addition to thyroid nodules that are considered thyroid cancer or show malignant potential, requiring prompt surgery, surgical intervention should also be expedited if the thyroid nodules autonomously secrete thyroid hormones or if they cause compressive symptoms.
