Can kidney deficiency be restored to normal through exercise?
Kidney deficiency can be improved through exercise to alleviate related symptoms and enhance physical fitness. Whether it can be fully restored to normal depends on individual circumstances and the severity of the condition, but the primary approach should be medication, with exercise serving as a supplementary measure.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the kidneys are considered the "foundation of innate constitution." They store essence, govern reproduction, and are the source of human life. Through pattern differentiation and treatment, TCM classifies kidney deficiency into four types: kidney yang deficiency, kidney yin deficiency, kidney essence deficiency, and kidney qi insecurity. For kidney yin deficiency, Liuwei Dihuang Wan may be used; for kidney yang deficiency, Jingui Shenqi Wan; for kidney essence deficiency, Guilu Erxian Gao; and for kidney qi insecurity, Jinsuo Gujing Wan.
The adverse reactions and contraindications of Liuwei Dihuang Wan are currently not clearly defined; Jinkui Shenqi Wan is contraindicated for pregnant women. During the medication period, sexual activity, anger, and consumption of raw or cold foods should be avoided. Guilu Erxian Gao should be used with caution in individuals with weak spleen and stomach. The adverse reactions and contraindications of Jinsuo Gujing Wan are currently not clearly defined.
The treatment of kidney deficiency should be based on selecting appropriate medications according to individual conditions, taken under the guidance of a professional doctor, and strictly following medical advice. Self-medication should not be undertaken blindly to prevent further damage to the kidneys and worsening of the condition.
