Is there a way to get rid of milia?
There are two types of what people commonly refer to as "fat granules." One is milia, which appears as a small white particle with a tiny grain underneath.
This is caused by trapped keratin debris. Simply pricking it open and removing the contents will resolve the issue.
However, most of what are commonly called "fat granules" are actually syringomas, caused by the accumulation and proliferation of sweat ducts in that area. In such cases, picking or squeezing won't remove them.
Therefore, we can perform laser treatments using fractional CO2 lasers to ablate and flatten these tissues. This is the only effective treatment method.
These aren't actually fat accumulations because fat is soft and couldn't form granular structures.
